Boitata, the Articulated Fire Snake

A character of Brazilian folklore, the Boitata is known to be the protector of the forests. A fire snake that prevents men from setting everything on fire with their greed. It is said that the Boitata can turn into a burning log that shines so bright it blinds those who look directly at him.
